COMRED and Blue Ventures are working together to further community-based marine conservation and fisheries management through Kenya’s Beach Management Units (BMU) in Kwale County. Working alongside the Kenyan government, we aim to promote community awareness and participation in marine management by providing training in effective governance to the BMU leaders.

The partnership between COMRED and Blue Ventures has led to the training of communities and BMUs on fisheries governance and financial management. This partnership has further created an opportunity to roll out an eco-credit scheme targeting BMU members in the south coast of Kenya.
